Week one of the NFL is underway, and in many states it is now legal to make football bets online. If you’re planning to get in on the action, it’s important to have a good strategy in week 1 when anything can happen. There are several smart betting moves that experienced players will make to get their seasons off to a lucrative start.

Tips for Betting Smart in Week 1

1.Try a Teaser

In a teaser bet, you combine two or more game spreads (or over/unders) into ONE Bet. Each spread gets altered by 6, 6.5 or 7 points in the bettor’s favor. All picks in the teaser have to hit in order to win. Teasers allow bettors to take chances on more heavy favorites, or to buy some insurance on an underdogs. Or Both!

2. Parlay the Money Lines

You see those big numbers next to the heavy favorites, -360, -500, -725, etc. These heavy favorites require a lot of cash to be bet for a tiny payout, but not if a bettor combines them into one bet. Many smart bettors will create parlay bets of two or more heavy favorite money lines, in order to get a bigger payout.

3. Don’t Buy the Hype

Be smart in week 1 by not always going with what the media is saying. Teams often get hyped up based on free agent signings, then they have no chemistry when it counts. Bettors who survive the first week with a bank roll intact don’t over react to wild predictions from the media.

4. Bet Small and Take Notes

A lot can happen in week 1. Injuries to star players who haven’t played in the pre season are common, and sometimes good teams just come out flat. In week 2 a bettor has a lot more information on their side when it comes to making picks. Pay attention to the whole league and take notes for next week.

5. Take Advantage of Deposit Bonuses

Legal Online Sports Books are offering incredible deposit bonuses for new players. These bonuses don’t always last. Get in on the offers today to claim extra free play to wager any time during the season.
