The Sixers actually beat a team with a winning record. Yes, they cooled off the 11-4 Miami Heat, 113-86. The last time Philly defeated a plus-.500 opponent was the fourth game of the season, over Minnesota. They have now won four straight, and their main stating five look healthy and dangerous.

This victory was extra sweet, since old teammate Jimmy Butler was held to just 11 points. Also, Josh Richardson returned from a hip injury to score 32 points against his former squad. Joel Embiid added 23 points and 11 rebounds. Both players put up those numbers in 26 minutes, as the Sixers bench got plenty of garbage time on the floor. However, sixth-man Furkan Korkmaz missed the game with a sprained ankle. He is day-to-day as the Sixers hit the road to Canada.

NBA Betting Preview – 76ers @ Raptors

Mon. 11/25 at 7:30 PM

The last time Philly played in Toronto, it was painful. It was May 12th. Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semis. Kawai Leonard hit the game-winner. There’s that photo, where both teams watch the ball about to fall in. Joel Embiid cried. The Raptors went on to win it all. You know this. Everyone does. That doesn’t make the pain go away.

Well, it’s seven months later, and Kawai is a Clipper. But the Raptors are still 11-4. They are now led on offense by Pascal Siakam, who is averaging 25.7 points. For eight games, Siakam was complimented by 14th-year point guard, Kyle Lowry averaging 21.8 points and 6.5 assists. But Lowry has been out a few weeks with a thumb fracture. In his place, Toronto’s depth has delivered. Primarily, that’s Fred VanVleet, averaging 18.1 points and 7.7 assists. Norman Powell has stepped in as a starter, and is averaging 14.8 points and 4.2 rebounds over the past six games that Lowry has missed. While they do have Marc Gasol (and his 6.9 rebounds a game) at center, Toronto’s size has taken a hit. Serge Ibaka is still out with a sprained ankle. So, Siakam has stepped up and led the team in rebounding with 8.5 per game.

The Pick:

The Raptors have defeated Philly 13 straight times in Toronto. They also have stronger bench depth than the Sixers. Specifically, they’re getting good contributions from young guys like Chris Boucher and Terence Davis. However, there aren’t many Eastern teams that can contend with Philadelphia’s healthy starting five firepower. Toronto is definitely one. Hence, the odds are close. Despite the history, though, I think Philadelphia wins as 1-point favorites tonight.

Where to bet this:

Unibet, Sugarhouse and DraftKings are all offering the best odds for Philadelphia as -1 favorites, with a payout of -109 ($109 win $100). CLICK HERE to get the largest possible bonus from all three of these books.

Top Player Prop:

I think Joel Embiid knows he’ll have to unleash a monster game for Philly to finally take a game in Toronto. That’s why I’m heading to PointsBet, and taking a -112 wager that Embiid scores more than 22.5 points.

To take things up a notch, slide down to PB’s ‘Player Points / Team Win’ market. You can choose the over on Embiid’s points, along with the Sixers to win, fo a payout of +215. However, if you think the Raptors will win, but Embiid still hits that scoring over, the payout increases to +265.
