The big finish of 2019 is upon us and still so much to be decided on this final Sunday of the regular season.
On to the Locks.
In the AFC. Baltimore has locked up home field throughout and will go with the b team at home against The Steelers. Pittsburgh is still hanging on to slim hopes of a playoff spot. Duck Hodges is the only healthy QB, so he’ll try to get the win on the road. I’m going with Pittsburgh -2.
All 3 other AFC divisions are decided but the Tennessee Titans are in the best spot to clinch the final wild card. But only if they can win in Houston. The Texans are 2-6 against the spread in their last 8 at home. Plus they are pretty much locked into the 4 seed. Ryan Tannehill knows he can finish off the improbable finish and make the post season and Houston has very little to play for. Titans – 3 1/2 is the play.
The final playoff spot left in the NFC East division comes down to whether the Philadelphia Eagles can finish off the crazy see-saw season. A win against the upstart New York Giants at the Meadowlands clinches the division at 9-7. This is regardless of what the Cowboys do at home against The Redskins. Philly played great against Dallas, but the G-men are also playing well and are 4 1/2 pt home dogs. The Eagles are one tough team to figure out, but Carson Wentz has been carrying them the last month and I expect him to finish the job. The point spread is the only thing scaring me, but I’ll take the Birds and lay the 4 1/2.
The Sunday Night Finale will decide the NFC west kings and more than likely the top seed in the conference. Seattle is missing it’s left tackle and top running backs and will trot out Marshawn Lynch a few days after returning to the Northwest. Will he make a difference? I think the Niners are the better squad right now and will lay the 3 1/2 with San Francisco. Happy New Year everybody!!!
