News is breaking now that UFC will return on May 9th for UFC 249.

The story is evolving as Dana White announced that the event will take place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL. There will also be televised UFC fights on May 13th and 16th.

UFC has sign-off from the mayor of Jacksonville and the event will be regulated by the Florida Boxing Commission. TV details have not been announced but it appears that ESPN and ESPN+ will be involved in simulcasting the fights.

White stated that UFC intends to go to great lengths to practice social distancing and ensure safety for staff and athletes.

The most notable matchup will be champion Henry Cejudo vs Dominick Cruz for the UFC bantamweight title. Another title fight will feature Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje for the lightweight championship belt.

Odds have yet to be posted for any of these fights at DraftKings, FanDuel or other online sportsbooks. TPN will update and shop the odds as soon as they are live.
