The Trends Favor the Patriots

When the Patriots take the field on Sunday night to face the Streelers, they will be hoping to continue an incredible streak of 16-0 in their last 16 home games.

Perhaps even more impressive, is the fact that they are 13-3 against the spread during the same 16 game stretch.

Additionally, the Pats are 11-4-1 in their last 16 games against the rival Steelers.

The Steelers Look Like a Playoff Team

The Steelers come into the season healthier than last year. They have also shed the burden of the Le’veon Bell’s holdout or a toxic Antonio Brown in the locker room.

Starting running back James Connor should have a big season without the a Bell situation looming around him. He will contribute both on the ground and in the passing game.

NFL Experts expect the Pittsburgh rush defense to be top ten in the league once again. This could be trouble for Sony Michel, the second year RB who leads the New England ground game.

In last years meeting with the Steelers, Sony Michel only rushed for 59 yards.

Props Network Pick

The Patriots always handle their business at home, and they have improved on both sides of the ball coming off a championship.

Big Ben and the Steelers look like a playoff team on paper, but this is a tough spot in week 1.

The Patriots might be limited on the ground by Pittsburgh, but I think Brady will come out firing to Edelman and Gordon. The Pats should get an extra boost from the excitement of Antonio Brown joining their squad next week.

The Pick: Patriots to win by 5 points (-5)
